Schiff Bases and Their Metal Complexes: Synthesis, Characterisation and Biological Applications

This research monograph presents a comprehensive account of Schiff base ligands — their synthesis from aldehydes and ketones, their coordination chemistry with first-row transition metals, and their application as antimicrobial, antifungal, and antioxidant agents. Derived from the author's research group at the Nigerian Defence Academy, the work covers over one hundred novel complexes characterised by elemental analysis, molar conductance, UV-Vis, IR, and NMR spectroscopy. Minimum inhibitory concentration (MIC) data against clinical isolates is systematically discussed.
